Since the closing of the Ravenswood public high school in 1976 East Palo Alto youth have been fragmented, attending several different high schools, mostly outside the community, as well as numerous after school programs. There is no one hub, no common ground, such as a large public high school would provide. Also, because of inter-group conflicts, youth cannot all share the same physical spaces of the community. This site entitled 1space.org acknowledges these situations and in response provides a common space on the web organized as a online performing arts center for all East Palo Alto youth.
